Your questions answered..
ARE OUR CAMPS ALL DIFFERENT?
Our camp weeks’ bring together a completely different mix of activities week on week – different robotic themes, competitions and electronic projects.
One week we might have Stop-Start Filming of Lego Action figures along with Wacky Robotic Races and Electronic Ink posters and the next week we might bring a Safari to life with our robots, build masks out Electronic wiring and 3D print parts for our robots to engage with.
We make that decision usually based on the age range of the children we have coming that particular week. The Past 5 years experience has been that they will have a fantastic time, have plenty of ‘Aha!’ moments, be ‘wowed’ at times and learn a great deal in the process.
WHAT AGES ARE SUITABLE?
For our summer camps, the age group is from 7 to 14 years old, depending on the camp
ARE THE CAMPS SUITABLE FOR BOYS AND GIRLS?
Of course! Boys and girls are welcome at our camps. The only exception to this is the Girls Tech camp, which is designed exclusively for girls.
WHAT ABOUT SAFETY?
We are of course fully insured. All our mentors are DBS checked and we only employ staff that are well qualified for the role, and we personally train them on the workings of a typical camp. Please ensure that your children do not bring any dangerous items to the camp (eg. knives, matches, sharp objects etc).
DO THE KIDS NEED POCKET MONEY?
No. Pocket money is not required, nor is it useful for them to bring money to the camp.
Lunch and snacks are not provided, so you do need to provide appropriate snacks and a packed lunch for your child. We recommend not to provide sweets and chocolates, but rather healthy alternatives.
When you arrive at camp, you will be required to sign your child in to the camp, and indicate any additional people who may be authorised to collect them in the afternoon. Reception will be staffed between 09:00 to 09:15. If you there is a chance you will be late, please text us on the numbers which will be provided before camp starts.
CAN MY CHILD COME FOR ONLY 1 OR 2 DAYS?
As our courses are designed to run over the entire week, with a grand finale at the end of the week, it is not practical to only come for a few days of a camp. If there are circumstance where your child does have to leave early, we cannot offer any reduction in camp fees.
